This Sashiko workshop, taught by Vicki Cornish, Bonsai Woman, is all about working with colour. Participants will learn how to stitch two beautiful threaded hitomezashi patterns whilst exploring a range of plant dyed threads and fabrics. We will discuss colour theory and how our colour choices impact on the patterns we stitch.
The two different patterns in the photo are what we will be stitching. Participants will take home at least one sample of each pattern. The samples will be large enough to turn into a pin cushion, coaster, patch, or mount into a card. The patterns will be yours to keep so you can replicate them at home. Vicki will also have some commercially dyed fabrics and threads available if preferred.
All fabric, threads and patterns will be provided. If you do not have a sashiko needle and thimble, a set can be purchased on the day for $8.
No embroidery experience necessary.
