Enjoy a peaceful morning of natural dyeing, artful composition and stitching.
We will work with colour, texture and stitches to personalise and accentuate your
own creative project such as a book cover or a cushion cover (total fabric approx. 50
x 50cm). We will also dye some specially curated silk fabric in a fresh dyebath
and/or bundle dye it with some Australian native plants. This can then be added
into your project or another project.
Other ideas for exploration are to make smaller compositions to be used later eg
small patches for visible mending, or to cover a tote bag.
The applications are endless.
This workshop is about fun and creativity. You can choose how elaborate you would
like to make your artwork, or if you prefer the minimalist look, use simple stitches to
accentuate fabric colours and textures.
Workshop includes irresistible treats and tea and all curated dyed and undyed
Bring an apron or shirt to protect your clothing, gloves, any of your favourite
sewing tools and please wear covered shoes. Sewing machine if you don’t fancy hand stitching the seams.
