This workshop is for people who would like to learn how to prepare a raw fleece for spinning. Taught by Vicki Cornish, Bonsai Woman, who is not only very experienced and knowledgeable about fleece, but passionate about sharing her knowledge.

Topics covered will include:

Selecting a fleece
Scouring (washing) a fleece
How to flick card locks
Using hand cards to make rolags
Using hand combs to make top
Each participant will receive 50g of raw fleece, samples of alpaca fleeces, an Ashford flick carder and workshop notes.

If anyone has a fibre preparation tool at home that they are not sure how to use, they are welcome to bring it along.

For this workshop everyone will be taught how to use a flick carder to can take home and use straight away. Vicki will demonstrate using hand cards and combs and participants will have hands on experience with these. Everyone will take home samples of rolags and tops for reference.
