Drover and Classer is a beautifully soft and squishy hand dyed yarn. Indie dyer, Rachel Laves has a created a muted palette that reflects the natural tones of the Australian landscape, with a nod to Downton Abbey’s Sybil and a perfect blush pink.
The Australian superfine merino knitting yarn, is produced in the Snowy Mountains by the Fletcher Family who have been running Saxon Merinos since 1915. They have been producing superfine and ultra-fine merino since 1980. The fleece has a micron of 16.8 or lower and is produced in the most sustainable and ethical manner possible.
The wool is processed and milled at Design Spun in New Zealand.
The yarn, available in 4 and 8 ply, has a light twist and lovely drape. It would be suitable for shawls and garments and is so soft it would be perfect for babies and direct skin contact.
This yarn is not superwash treated and requires hand washing to prevent felting or shrinkage.
As this yarn is hand dyed there are variegations within the skein and between skeins, even when they were dyed together. Please alternate skeins where necessary.
Each skein is hand wound by Rachel and is guaranteed not to contain knots or joins.
